The Ice Bucket Challenge has really caught on over the last week, with many athletes, celebrities and public figures among them NHL star Sidney Crosby, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell, Facebook boss Mark Zuckerberg and New Jersey governor Chris Christie posting video of themselves taking the plunge and asking others to follow suit.

Bettman answered the challenges issues by Bruins owner Jeremy Jacobs , ESPN anchor John Buccigross, Jets executive Mark Chipman and "a number of other people."

The commissioner in turn called out Burke, the Calgary Flames' president, along with Kings assistant general managerRob Blake and Maple Leafs president Brendan Shanahan all former employees at the league office.

Burke responded, with an assist from Buccigross.

Earlier this week, NHL free agent Paul Bissonnette impressed with a slickly produced video showing himself getting doused from a helicopter.
