Connor McDavid scores 1st NHL goal

The wait is over for Connor McDavid, and perhaps all NHL fans,as the Edmonton Oilers rookie centre scored his first goal as a pro on Tuesday night.

McDavidfound the net behind goalie Kari Lehtonenat the 12:18 mark of the second period to knot the score at two apiece on the road against the Dallas Stars.

Unfortunately, Jason Spezza played a big role in spoiling McDavid'sspecial night byrecordinga hat trick in a 4-2 win for Dallas.

It's something that I'll remember for the rest of my life," McDavid said. "But like you said, obviously, not the way you want to end that game but pretty special to get it right away."
