Troy Tulowitzki has made a good firstimpression as thenewest member of the Blue Jays.

The shortstop led off for the first time in his career and startedWednesday's game against the Philadelphia Phillies with a standing ovation from the home crowd.

Although he struck out in his first at-bat, the 30-year-old made sure that his second attempt of the night was one to remember.

Tulowitzkiopened scoring for his new team by smackinga two-run homeruninto the second deck to put Toronto up 2-0 in the thirdinning.

The homer was his 13th of the season, but it wasn't the only way he endeared himself to fans.


He continued his stunning debut by racking up three hits, two doubles and three RBIs in the Blue Jays 8-2 win.This is something Jose Reyes, who was traded to Colorado in return for Tulowitzki,had never managed while playing with Toronto.
