-Badger hits 31.0 on July 4th, becoming first spot in NL to hit 30+ this Summer.

-St. John's 28.7 on July 6th is the warmest day at YYT since July 2008!

-Badger 33.5 on July 7th is warmest day there since July 2007!

-On July 14th, Corner Brook set a daily high record of 30.2, breaking a record of 30.0 set back in 1933.

-On July 15th, for only the 9th time since 1942, St. John's hits the 30+ mark. Official high is 31.2 which is now the second hottest day on record.

-Gander hits 30+, 3 times in a Summer for the first time since 2005.

-St. John's: July 25th-26th. Records falling like... like raindrops!

-As of July 28th, St. John's YYT had already broken the sticky record of 'Hours of 20+ Dew Point' at 108 hours. The crazy part is, last years 101 hours SMASHED the old record of 75 hours back in 1989... and we've already beaten that new mark.

-Now add in the 6 sticky hours we had last evening and St. John's YYT is now sitting at 114 hours with dew point 20+. Even more impressive considering our stickiest month, historically speaking, is August!

It's hard to believe, here in Metro anyway, we are actually keeping pace with last Summer, which many view as the best Summer in memory. Obviously we have August and into September to go, but it was an impressive July for sure. Check out Rodney's July to July comparison chart here.

Environment Canada's long range forecast models are forecasting the above normal temperature trend to continue into August and beyond. The best chance of that is over the Avalon and Eastern Newfoundland.
