Grace Mugabe returns to Zimbabwe after South Africa assault allegation

Grace Mugabe returned to Zimbabwe early on Sunday, state media reported, after a 20-year-old model accused the wife of President Robert Mugabe of assaulting her in an upmarket Johannesburg hotel room.

Grace Mugabe returned to Zimbabweearly on Sunday, state media reported, after a 20-year-old modelaccused the wife of President RobertMugabeof assaulting her in an upmarketJohannesburg hotel room.

South Africa granted Grace Mugabe diplomatic immunity, asecurity source told Reuters on Friday.

Zimbabwean state media reported that Robert Mugabeand the first lady arrived in Harare aboard an Air Zimbabweplane. A source confirmed this to Reuters.

Harare has made no official comment on the allegations andrequests for comment from Zimbabwean government officials havegone unanswered. The South African government has restricted allofficial comment to the police ministry.
