Heavy flooding in Mozambique is said to have killed 25 people.

BBC reported that two bridges are said to have collapsed, and power has been knocked out in parts of the country after 10 electrical pylons toppled. Restoration of power is expected to take a week, the country's electrical utility said.

Associated Press reported Wednesday that nearly 20,000 people had been displaced by the flooding.

BBC reported that the flooding on theLicungoRiver is the worst since 1971.

In neighbouring Malawi, 48 people were reported dead with about 23,000 displaced from their homes due to flooding, Associated Press said.
