Boy injured in fall from roller-coaster at Pennsylvania amusement park

A boy has been hospitalized after fallingfrom a wooden roller-coaster at a Pennsylvania amusement park.

It's the third amusement park accident recently reported in the U.S. Earlier this week,a 10-year-old boy died of a neckinjuryas he rode awaterslideat a Kansas water park. A six-year-old girl suffered a brain injuryand her 10-year -old sister broke her armafter they fell from a ferris wheel in Tennessee.

A spokesman for Idlewild and SoakZone amusement park near Ligonier, Pa.,saidthe boy was on the ride with his brother Thursday afternoon when he fell. His age wasn't released.

A Westmoreland County emergency dispatcher saidthe boy was conscious and airlifted to a hospital.

Park spokesman Jeff Croushore saidhe couldn'tsay whether the ride malfunctioned.

Hospital spokesman Marc Lukasiak saidhe couldn'trelease any information about the boy's condition.

The Rollo Coaster opened in 1938 and takes riders up, down and around a wooded hillside. It doesn't require seatbelts.
