The Commons committee on Access to Information, Privacy and Ethics heard from federal Lobbying Commissioner Karen Shepherd Tuesday, as it begins its review of the Lobbying Act.

Shepherd'stestimony follows findings from her report Mondaythat former Conservative MP Rahim Jaffer and his business partner Patrick Glmaudbreachedthe lobbyists' Code of Conduct at least five times in their dealings on behalf of their company, Green Power Generation.

But as the CBC's Greg Weston reported Tuesday, despite the work of an investigative team in the commissioner's office, no lobbyists have been prosecuted under the Lobbying Act, and the RCMP routinely declines to investigate the commissioner's findings.
