British soul singer Amy Winehouse, who has rarely performed in recent months due to her battle with drug addiction, is scheduled to sing in New York at the mtvU Woodie Awards in November.

She is up for a Woodie of the Year trophy. The music awards are voted on by college students in the U.S.

Winehouse pulled out of the Sept. 9 MTV Video Music Awards and cancelled all her North American appearances during the summer as well as several British concerts.

Her label, Universal Records, had said the cancellations were "in a continued effort to support Amy Winehouse's well-being."

The singer recently performed at the MOBO Awards in London on Sept. 30, where she won Best UK Female, but appeared to forget the lyrics to her songs while performing.

Winehouse and her husband, Blake Fielder-Civil, have become regular fodder for British tabloids with news of their violent fights and drug abuse.

One paper ran a photo of a bloodied Winehouse after an altercation with her husband.

The situation is so bad, her father-in-law, Giles Fielder-Civil, called for a boycott of the singer's albums until the couple smartens up. Mitch Winehouse has deemed his daughter's situation "sickening" and says the couple is "out of control."

The 24-year-old London native burst on the music scene with her highly acclaimed Back to Black album.

The fourth annual mtvU Woodie Awards will be presented Nov. 8. They will air Nov. 15 on MTV's 24-hour college network, mtvU, and its website.
