Amy Winehouse has cancelled all her August concerts, including an appearance at the V Festival in London, because of health issues.

Winehouse, 23, was hospitalized last week for "severe exhaustion."

She is noticeably thinner than she was earlier this year, and British media are reporting she had checked into a rehab clinic for drug addiction.

Spokeswoman Tracey Miller would not confirm those reports Thursday, after announcing Winehouse is putting her touring commitments on hold.

"Her family has requested that the media respect Amy's privacy at this time," Miller said."There will be no further comment."

Winehouse and her husband, Blake Fielder-Civil, lefta rehab clinic Thursday night, but Fielder-Civil told reporters the couple would be returning after a night out.

"We only came back to get a guitar, but of course in the paper that's interpreted that me and Amy are both so weak we left after three days," he told the BBC.

Fielder-Civil said Winehouse was being well looked after and needed peace to recover.

"We're going back to this retreat. She's determined to get well. It's not as bad as everyone thinks, but she's fine, she's loved and looked after," he said.

The singer gained international recognition on the merits of her sophomore album, Back to Black, which isshortlisted for this year's Mercury Prize.

Winehouse's autobiographical Top 10 single Rehab won the Ivor Novello songwriting award for best contemporary song in May, and she took home a Brit award in February.

However, British media report shehas areputation for hard drinking and drug use. She madeseveral concert cancellations in Europe ahead of Thursday's announcement, saying she wouldn't play if she felt "sub-par."
