Quebec filmmaker Vincent Morisset has won a trophy at the South By Southwest Musicfestival in Austin, Texas.

The self-described "web-friendly director" landed the SXSW Interactive Art Award for his playful online video, BLA BLA, produced at the National Film Board of Canada.

BLA BLA is an animated web film in which viewers change what happens on the screen by clicking on the characters and objects. In fact, if the viewer is not interacting, nothing happens on the screen.

Each of the six chapters in the story depicts a different aspect of communication: learning a language, making small talk and expressing emotions.

Earlier this week, BLA BLA won an Entertainment Award in the annual Communication Arts Interactive Competition, a design competition for interactive media.

Morisset has also created interactive videos for the band Arcade Fire.
