Mike & Molly season-ender pulled over tornado plot

CBS has taken the scheduled season-ending episode of Mike & Molly off the air because its plot line revolved around a tornado threatening the couple.

The network said it replaced the comedy,created by sitcom hitmaker Chuck Lorre,with a rerun out of sensitivity to victims of the deadly tornado in Oklahoma.

"Due to the tragic events this afternoon in Oklahoma, we are pre-empting tonight's season finale of Mike & Molly, which has a related storyline," a CBS spokesperson said in a statement earlier Monday.

CBS said the show's season finale will air "at an appropriate date."

Starring Emmy-winner Melissa McCarthy and Billy Gardell, Mike & Molly is a comedy about a couple who fall in love and marry after meeting at an overeaters support group.The plot of the season finale had the two lead characters confessing important news to one another as a tornado threatens Chicago, where the show is set.

Dozens of fatalities were reported Monday when agiant storm hit the Oklahoma City suburbs.
