Love, Loss and What I Wore Toronto cast named

Acast of experienced Canadian actresses have agreed to star in the Toronto premiere of Love, Loss and What I Wore, areviewcreated by Nora and Delia Ephron based on the stories of women.

Paula Brancati of Being Erica, comedian Andrea Martin of SCTV and My Big Fat Greek Wedding and Louise Pitre of Mamma Mia will be part of the cast when the show runs July 16 to Aug. 7.

Wendy Crewson of ReGenesis, Lauren Collins of Degrassi: The Next Generation, and Cynthia Dale of Stratford Shakespeare Festival stage fame move into the roles Aug. 10 to Sept 4.

The Toronto production will be directed by Karen Carpenter, who helmed the off-Broadway production of Love, Loss, and What I Wore that began last October.

The production, which captures both poignant and comic moments in women's lives, is based on Ilene Beckerman's 1995 book about clothes and the memories they trigger.

The evening is presented as a staged reading, with five actresses lined up on stage, script still in hand, to tell more than 20 vignettes.

The Broadway production has starred actresses such as Rosie O'Donnell, Kristin Chenoweth,Samantha Bee, Tyne Daly, Carol Kane, Brooke Shields and Fran Drescher.

The Toronto show begins July 16 at the Panasonic theatre and the cast rotates every four weeks.
