'It's impossible, I'm sorry to let you down!': The viewer question that stumped celebrity chef Jamie Oliver who's touring his new book, Jamie's Comfort Food

Jamie Oliver has several hugely successful television series,a global healthy food revolution,an expandingempire of Italian restaurants,and a library of bestselling cookbooks.(He'scurrently touring his latest, Jamie's Comfort Food in Canada.)

But when it comes to getting his four children to eat the food he prepares, the charming celebrity chef admits that success depends on brutal determination.

"Kids are put on Earth to make parents' life a misery," the 39-year-old joked with CBC's Jelena Adzic."It's just warfare. Simple warfare."

"Sometimes you gotta to lie. Sometimes you get stuff [healthy food] in a smoothie or into the base of a ragout...Mate, I'd suggest anything."

Food, fame and family

True success, says Oliver, comes from getting the whole family involved in food preparation, and at a timewhen most celebrities are seeking privacy, thefamily man is proud to incorporate his own family (daughtersPetal, Poppy, Daisy,son Buddy and wife Jools) into his career.

"I understand why certain actorswould not want paparazzi...in their lives" says the man who is arguably Britain's most famous food export.

"ButJools and I are confident that we have a stable family life, and sometimesnothing isachieved by covering things up."

Jamie's Comfort Food is on bookstore shelves now, and stay tuned to Steven and Chris on CBC-TV for a special appearance by the TV chef on Oct. 21.
