Jacksons' lawyer attacks Lester's paternity claims

A lawyer for the family of late pop star Michael Jackson has blasted claims made by British actor Mark Lester that he is the father of Jackson's daughter, Paris.

A lawyer for the family of late pop star Michael Jackson has blasted claims made by British actor Mark Lester that he is the father of Jackson's daughter, Paris.

Attorney Londell McMillan said in a statement Monday that Lester's allegations are "another unproven and meaningless claim."

"These are claims with no legal standing whatsoever," McMillan said.

Lester, best known for his portrayal of Oliver Twist in the musical Oliver!, claimed Sunday that he was the father of Jackson's second child.

"I gave Michael my sperm so that he could have kids, and I believe Paris is my daughter," Lester said to the News of the World newspaper.

The actor claimed he donated sperm to Debbie Rowe, the mother of Paris and Jackson's son Prince Michael.

Lester, who is the godfather to Paris, Prince Michael and Prince Michael II, said that he could see "strong similarities" between Paris and his own 15-year-old daughter, Harriet.

Lester is not the first person to declare to be the father of Jackson's children.

Earlier reports had surfaced that Jackson's personal doctor, Arnold Klein, could be the father of the Paris and Prince Michael after he claimed that he, too, had donated sperm to the star.

Jackson died June 25 after going into cardiac arrest at his home in Los Angeles. He was 50.
