Ex-wife gets visitation with son, daughter she had with late pop star

Michael Jackson's mother, Katherine Jackson, is to have custody of his three children under a deal announced Thursday.

Butlawyers have brokered an arrangement in Los Angeles that gives the late King of Pop's former wife, Deborah Rowe, visitation rights to their two children who were born during their marriage.

The singer specified in his 2002 will that his mother should care for his children if anything should happen to him. Jackson died June 25 at age of 50.

Prince Michael, 12, Paris Michael, 11, and seven-year-old Prince Michael II, also known as Blanket, who was born through a surrogate, have been with his mother since his death.

Rowe has had little involvement in the lives of her son and daughter.

But after Jackson's death, she moved to protect her access to them, herlawyer said.

Custody case handled in 'caring' manner: lawyers

A child psychologist, to be chosen jointly by Rowe and Katherine Jackson, is to set the conditions for visitation with the two children.

"Mrs. Jackson and the family are pleased this matter is resolved and was handled in a caring, thoughtful and courteous manner by the parties and their representatives," herlawyers, L. Londell McMillan and Diane Goodman, wrote in a statement.

"We were all united in our goals to do what is best for Michael's wonderful children, and both Mrs. Jackson and Debbie Rowe were on the exact same page."

The attorneys said no money changed hands in the deal.

Jackson's death remains under investigation.
