The father of the late pop star Michael Jackson has sued the doctor charged with giving the pop star a lethal dose of sedatives.

The father of the late pop star Michael Jackson has sued the doctor charged withgivingthe pop star a lethal dose ofsedatives.

Joe Jackson filed a wrongful death lawsuit against Dr. Conrad Murray in Los Angeles on Friday, the first anniversary of his son's death.

Murray had been attending tothe late entertaineras he prepared for a series of comebackconcerts in London, England.

Murray has pleaded not guilty to felony involuntary manslaughter. He has been accused of providing Jackson withthe sedatives that killed him, including propofol, which is usually used in hospitals.

Murray's lawyer,Charles Peckham, issued a statement saying he expected the trial to prove Murray's innocence.

The suit isseeking more than $75,000 US from Murray.
