Brad Pitt makes first red carpet appearance following divorce news

Brad Pittattended his first public red carpet since Angelina Joliefiled for divorce from him inSeptember.

He didn't have to face questions from the media though the Los Angeles premiere of his new film Alliedincluded onlya brief Q&Aon stagefor publicity purposes.

After signing autographs and taking selfies with fans, Pittsaid the reception was "really sweet."

"Everyone's been very kind out here," he said during the Q&A held outsidethe Regency Village Theatre."It's really nice to have the support."

The 52-year-old star missedan L.A. film premiere in September ofadocumentary henarrated: Terrence Malick'sVoyage of Time: The IMAX Experience.It took place about a week after his divorce was announced.

Allied is a spythrillerabout two assassins who fall in love during a Second World War mission. It also stars Marion Cotillard.

The screening comes on the same day as reports that a child abuse allegation against Pittwas unfounded.

Aninvestigation into whether Brad Pitt was abusive toward his 15-year-old, Maddox,onboard a private flight in September hasbeen closed, according to the Associated Press.

There wasno finding of abuse by the actor.

Multiples sources have said the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services had been looking into the allegations.

Jolieis seeking sole custody of their sixchildren, whilePittis seeking joint custody.The couple reached a temporary custody agreement in which Jolie has full custody and Pitt has visitation rights.
