A YouTube channel has been created for Anne Frank, the Jewish teenager who kept a diary of her family's time in hiding during the Second World War.

The Anne Frank House museum in Amsterdam has set up the channel to make the story of the young author more widely known.

The only known video of Anne herself is a short clip of her leaning out a window, during a 1941 wedding, before she went into hiding.

The YouTube channel posts that clip, as well asinterviews with her father Otto Frank and others who knew her and a 3-D video about the Franks' hiding place in a warehouse that belonged to her businessman father.

In one excerpt, former South African leader Nelson Mandela describes his experience reading The Diary of Anne Frank during the 27 years he spent in prison.

The Frank family spent 25 months in hiding in a secret annex in the Amsterdam building before being betrayed by neighbours.

They were sent to concentration camp where Anne died of typhus at age 15, just two weeks before Allied troops liberated Bergen-Belsen. Her father, Otto, was the only member of the family to survive the war and published her diary.
