Windsor Islamic Council condemns Nice attacks

Statement issued by Windsor Islamic council condemns "all terrorist attacks in the strongest terms possible, and calls on all Muslims to stand firm against and expose these evil doers."

The Windsor Islamic Councilcondemns the Bastille Day attacks in France, saying the people who commit such violentacts in the name of Islam are completely misguided.

In a statement issued Friday, officials with the Islamic councilsaid the "gruesomenature of the attack in Nice demonstrates the troubling immoral and evil nature of terrorism and the sickening mentality of its perpetrators."

The statement goes on to read how the Windsor council "condemns this and all terrorist attacks in the strongest terms possible, and calls on all Muslims to stand firm against and expose these evil doers."

Reports emerged Friday indicating 84 people had died when a large truck plowed through the celebration for Bastille Day fireworks. Those deadincluderesidents from Canadaand the U.S.

The Islamic council had harsh words for anyone attacking countries in the name of Islam, sayingthey "are criminals who follow a sickening perverted ideology that is the farthest from the noble teaching of Islam."
