Two tornadoes walloped Lasalle and Windsor

Severe weather experts say the second tornado that struck Windsor could have reached speeds of up to 210 km/h.

Environment Canada confirmed two tornadoes walloped LaSalle and Windsor on Wednesday night, saying they were the worst twisters to hit the region in five years.

Severe weather experts saythe second tornado that struck Windsor could have reached speeds of up to 210 km/h.

The first tornado tracked from the Detroit River near Islandview Marina just after 7 p.m. It whipped through parts ofLaSalle, stretching two kilometres, according toEnvironment Canada's team of experts who studied the aftermath Thursday.

Winds in that first twister could have reached 145 km/h, based on therating given by the severe weather experts.

A second tornado touched down in Windsor near Walker Road, tracking eight kilometres on a damaging path that includedan industrial park. It eventually weakened around E.C. Row Expressway and Central Avenue.
