Suspect arrested for attempted murder in downtown Windsor stabbing

Police have made an arrest following a Tuesday night stabbing in downtown Windsor that left a woman with serious injuries.

Benjamin Carter, 21, was taken into custody over the noon-hour Thursday

Police have made an arrest following Tuesday night's stabbing in the 100-block ofOuellette Avenue in downtown Windsor.

Authorities say 21-year-old Benjamin Carter, of Windsor, was picked upover the noon-hour on Thursday at a residence on Wellington Avenue.

The stabbing left afemale victim in hospital withlife-threatening injuries.

Windsor Regional Hospital confirmed to CBCNews on Wednesday the victim is in stable condition.

Carter faces the following charges:

  • attempt murder
  • assault with a weapon
  • possession of a dangerous weapon
  • breach probation (two counts)
