Skate with the penguins at Detroit Zoo

Visitors to the Detroit Zoo can skate near the penguins this winter.

Zoo officials say 31 skaters at a time can be on the 1,500-square-foot rink outside the Polk Penguin Conservation Center.

But this is no ice rink. While the weather will be plenty cold, the skating surface is made of plastic and requires no water or electricity.
