The Chatham-Kent Police Service has named its dumbest criminal of 2013.

The notoriety goes to an erratic driver who was eventually charged with drug possession.

Police say the man was stopped and issued two traffic tickets.

As the officer was speaking to the driver outside his vehicle, police said he used his shirt to wipe his eyes, revealing a plastic baggie with drugs that he had taped to his chest.

The best excuse for speeding went to a woman stopped in Kent Bridge.

Police said the woman didn't think it was right she get a speeding ticket because the police didn't first advertise in the newspaper that they would be enforcing speed limits on that day.

Other calls in the police service's annual top 10 include a person who drove an electric bike to probation appointment even though a condition of probation was to not drive a motorized vehicle.

Police also had a man call for help in retrieving his glass eye after his girlfriend had hidden it and refused to return it.
