Environment Canada has issued a heat warning for the Windsor-Essex region for Monday and Tuesday.

Maximum temperatures are expected to reach between 30 C and 32 C, with humidex values reaching the low 40s. Minimum temperatures will hover between 20 C and 22 C.

Wednesday night should bring cooler weather, but it will depend on thunderstorm and shower activity on Tuesday.

The hotter temperatures may last into Wednesday.

Environment Canada is advising people to drink plenty of water and to never leave anyone especially children and pets in a hot car.

The weather agency also warns that people with an underlying condition can be especially vulnerable in extreme heat, but that extreme heat can affect anyone.
