Teen facing attempted murder charge in Leamington

A teenager is facing charges after an attempted murder investigation in Leamington.

A 17-year-old has been charged with attempted murder after a police investigation in Leamington.

On Feb. 20, 2024, members of the Leamington detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to an assault call at an address on Russell Street, according to a statement from the OPP.

Police located a male with stab wounds, and the suspect was apprehended a short time later. The victim was transported to hospital with serious injuries.

The teenhas been charged with three offences:

  • Attempt to Commit Murder
  • Failure to comply with release order
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking-Opioid

The accused was held in custody to appear at a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Windsor.
