Phantoms of the Organ

Oct. 31, 10 p.m. onwards

The Metropolitan United Church is home to the largest pipe organ in the country. The church also ventures that it might be the only place of worship with a fog machine. Both instruments provide the drama at their annual event, where guest organists entertain attendees with a repertoire filled with spooky and not-so-spooky tunes the sheet music can range from The Beatles and Harry Potter to Bach.

2nd Annual Pumpkin Parade

Nov. 1, Artscape Wychwood Barns

What's your Jack O'Lantern doing after Halloween?If you are looking for ways beyond the green bin to dispose off your pumpkin, you could give it one more night out. Take it to the Pumpkin Parade at Wychwood Barns and light another candle, mingle with others. Similar events also happen at Sorauren Park and Christie Pits Park.

Celebracion Del Dia de Muertos

Toronto South African Film Festival

Nov. 1 - 2, Jackman Hall, AGO

This festival will bring alive the culture, history and politics of South Africa through movies. Under the Skies documents Paul Simon's return to the country 25 years after recording his famous Graceland album, while Material is a dramedy about a South African Muslim comic standing up to the tradition his father espouses. There's even an animated film, Khumba, about a zebra's mission to find water in a drought-ridden landscape.
