A Sudbury family needs to find somewhere to stay that is close to the Hospital for Sick Children.

A Sudbury family with a seriously ill two-year-old is scrambling to find an apartmentnear Sick Kids hospital, and they're hoping an online plea may help.

Taylum Lamoureaux is waiting for a kidney transplant and still requiresdaily care at the downtown Toronto hospital to deal with a rare form of polycystic kidney disease.

The family has been paying $500 per month to rent a small two-bedroom apartment at the Ronald McDonald house in downtown Toronto for most of Taylum's life, but now, they have to leave to make room for new patients.

Desiree Lamoureux, Taylum's mother, said it's been hard to find an apartment near the hospital under $2,000 a big expense for a young family that already has a mortgage on a home in Sudbury so she sent out an online plea hoping for another option.

"We were just kind of hoping, you know, the right person will see the ad ... who may be going out of town for a few months or who may be going on a business adventure somewhere or something might consider subletting to us just to kind of give us a break,"she said.

The CBC's Kate Adach has more on the family's search in the video above.
