Police probe 2 fatal weekend shootings in Toronto

Toronto police have found the vehicle belonging to a man who was shot dead in the city's east end, one of two gun-related killings that occurred on the same day.

Toronto police have located the vehicle belonging to a man who was shot dead in the citys east end, one of two gun-related killings that occurred on the same day.

Abdulaziz Farah, 28, was found suffering from gunshot wounds early Saturday morning.

He succumbed to his injuriesat the scene on Fawcett Trail, near Morningside Avenue and Sheppard Avenue East.

Investigators said a black Acura with chrome rims and the Ontario licence plate BMEP 115 was spotted fleeing the scene.

That car had belonged to the victim, police said.

Late Sunday afternoon, policesaid Farah's car had been found in a plaza in the Kingston Road and Port Union Road area.

Det. Omar Khan told reporters Sunday that the vehicle had been located "by citizens" following a police appeal for information about its whereabouts.

Khan said Farah was known to police, but said he did not have information to suggest that his killing was gang-related.

The detectivesaid police had been getting a great deal of co-operation from the public, though investigators are still hoping for help to piece together the final hours of Farah's life.

Khan said Farah, five feet eleven inches tall,was wearing a red-checkered shirt, blue jeans and whiterunning shoeson the night he was killed.

Hours after police began investigating Farahs killing, homicide investigators started probing the shooting of another young man.

Late Saturday night, police were called to a shooting at 11 Main St., near Kingston Road.

When police arrived on scene, they found a 26-year-old man in a fifth-floor hallway, suffering from a gunshot wound.

The victim was taken to hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries. His name has not yet been released.

3 weekend deaths west of Toronto

West of Toronto, in the city of Mississauga, police are also investigating a homicide after a 40-year-old woman was found dead in her apartment on Saturday afternoon.

A warrant is now being sought for the arrest of the victims husband.

And in Milton, Ont., the bodies of a father and his six-year-old son were found in a home on Saturday. Police said autopsies will be performed on Sunday to determine how they died.
