Parkside Drive is closed in both directions following reports of a sinkhole, Toronto police say.

In a social media post Thursday morning, police said they were on the scene near Parkside Drive and High Park Boulevard, located in the city's west end.

The city said in a statement that staff are investigating whether one south bound lane can be reopened while utility providers look into what needs to be repaired, adding that no injuries have been reported because of the sinkhole.

Flooding of the road blocked all lanes oftraffic on Wednesday night, according to the city's Main Roads accounton X, formerly Twitter. The road is no longer flooded, but images on social media show large sinkholes along the side of the road.

Police did not saywhen the road might reopen. In the meantime, the city advised those using the road to plan ahead and consider other routes to avoid delays.
