Members of former mayor and current councillor Rob Ford's family handed over twocheques totalling $90,000 to Humber River Hospital this morning.

The first cheque, for $40,000, comes from Ford's bobbleheadsales. The second, for $50,000, was a personal donation from the Ford family to the hospital.

Doug Fordand Dianne Ford, the brothers' mother, were on hand to deliver the cheques to the hospital.

The donations are a recognition of the care the hospital has provided to Ford during his ongoing fight against a cancerous tumour in his abdomen, Doug Ford said.

On Tuesday, Doug Ford confirmed that his brother's tumour has shrunk considerably after undergoing five rounds of chemotherapy. Doctors are now considering radiation and surgery options, he said.

Ford was diagnosed with the rare and aggressive in September, forcing him to drop his bid for reelection as mayor. Instead he ran for councillor in Etobicoke North and won a seat he had previously held for nearly a decade.
