Porter Airlines hascancelled more than 15 flights on Friday night due to a software malfunction.

Porter was forced tocancel or delay dozens of flightsdue to "prolonged systems outages," the Billy Bishop Toronto CityAirport-based airline said. The issues come on the same night as Pearson International Airport has seen dozens of flight interruptions due to a major blizzard slamming the southern and eastern U.S.

Air Canada flights from the downtown island airport are not affected by the computer issues.

"Porter Airlines is cancelling a portion of its remaining flights for January 22, 2016, due to prolonged systems outages," the airline said in a statement released around 7:20 p.m.

"Passengers will be rebooked on flights as soon as tomorrow based on availability."

Porter said the computer issues stem from software provided by a third-party.

The problems are also hampering the airline's booking system.
