Toronto police saddened by death of 'beloved' horse on Christmas

Viscount, a Toronto police horse, died on Christmas Day, leaving the mounted unit and entire force mourning the loss of one of their own.

Chief Mark Saunders announced the death of the "beloved" horse over the weekend, calling it a "devastating loss."

Viscount's stable has beendraped with police gear to honour the horse.

Police were flooded with condolences following Viscount's passing.

Sgt. Elise Higgittsaid on Twitterthe horse died of colic.
