A 6-year-old now in the news for winding up on the no-fly list was on CBC News before -- when a Toronto EMS operator helped his dad keep him alive.

Six-year old Syed Adam Ahmedismaking national headlinesfor apparently being on a travel security risk list, but this isn't the first time he's been in the news.

I reported on him and his family almost seven years ago after a near tragedy.

In May 2009, when Adam was fourdays old, he turned blue in the face and stopped breathing.

His dad, Sulemaan Ahmed, called 911 in desperation.

Melissa Munns of Toronto EMS was on the other end of that line. She walked Ahmed through each step to help Adam breatheagain.

I wanted to tell the story about howMunns and Ahmed two strangers worked together on the phone to save a little boy's life.

While theinfant recovered in hospital, Ahmed asked EMS if he could personally thank the woman who saved his son.

I was there when Munns, teddy bear in hand, arrived at the hospital to meet Ahmed. They hugged and laughed.

The sad thing is, years later,I had forgotten all about that story. As a news reporter, filing a television story daily, there are days I can't remember what I had for lunch.

It wasn't until Ahmed sent me these text messages Fridayin response to a text I sentlooking for comment on Adam's latest ordeal.

He texted:

"You did a piece on Adam when he was born."

"He nearly died and the EMS team saved his life."

"That's you right?"

Even though I had followed Adam and his family's recent problemsin the media, I never connected the dots that the baby I reported on seven years ago is the same child whosename has come up asa "highrisk" traveller until now.
