Boy, 14, charged with 1st-degree murder in North York shooting

A 14-year-old boy has been arrested and charged with first-degree murder in connection with the death of Ajay Simpson last month.

Toronto police say a 14-year-old boy has been arrested and charged with first-degree murder in connection with the death of Ajay Simpson last month in North York.

Simpson, 20, was shot June 24 in the Jane Street and Falstaff Avenue area.

Police said a light-coloured SUV arrived in the area and four armed suspects exited the vehicle with firearms and several shots were fired.

The teenager, whose identity cannot be released under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, was scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on Friday

Police are asking anyone with information to come forward.
