A deadly shooting remains unsolved, but needed witnesses remain silent.

Toronto police are still looking for help from witnesses who can help them solve the deadly shooting that occurred on Danzig Street this past summer.

Nearly three months after the July 16 shooting, police have made progress in their investigationandhave made a few arrestsin connection with the violence that left two people dead and 23 others wounded.

Yet no one has been charged in the deaths of14-year-old Shyanne Charles, or23-year-old Joshua Yasaythe two innocent victims killed in the shooting.

Staff Insp. Greg McLane, who leads the Toronto police homicide squad, said investigators have "a good indication as to a lot of the parties involved," but still need additional help from witnesses.

Anthony Hutchinson, a court-certified gang expert, said there is no doubt that some people are aware of details that could help police close the case.

"The word on the street is that many people already know who the shooters are," he said.

Tensions between community members and the police, however, may make it more difficult for homicide investigators to do their job.

McLane said they are trying to do what they can to improve their relationships with the public.

"I think what we have to do is prove that were worthy of trust," he said.
