Kanye West has takenon his latest critic the only way Kanye knows.

Since exploding on the scene 12 years ago, the hugely controversialrapper has been slammed by everyone from President Obama to rock legend David Crosby.

On Tuesday, Canadian producer Bob Ezrin, who's worked with Pink Floyd, Lou Reed, Alice Cooper and Peter Gabriel, set his sights on the man popularly known as Yeezy.

In a blog post, Ezrin opined that "it's unlikely that we'll be quoting too many of Kanye's songs 20 years from now. He didn't open up new avenues of public discourse like NWA or introduce the world to a new art form like Grandmaster Flash or even meaningfully and memorably address social issues through his music like Marshall, Macklemore and Kendrick."

And while Ezrin complimented West's production work, he said West'ssongwriting "was sophomoric at best."

Ezrin wrote that Kanye's greatest achievements "have been in the form of excessive behaviour, egomaniacal tantrums and tasteless grandstanding."

West wasted no time hitting back at his latest detractor on Twitter.

His barrage of tweets speaks for itself.
