Gordie Howe's plaque on Canada's Walk of Fame in Toronto has a sizable crack in it and the legendary hockey player's family wants it fixed.

His son, Marty Howe, says in an email to The Canadian Press that he doubts Gordiewas awareabout the crack in his plaque, but is sure he andthe family would like it fixed.

Howe's isn't the only star that's damaged on the walk.

The one honouring actor William Shatner has some chips in it.

Walk of Fame president Peter Soumalias blames freezing and thawing during the winter and snowplows.

He says it's the city's job to fix the plaques.

But the city's director of transportation services says if a plaque needs replacing, the Walk of Famewill have to provide a new one for city crews to insert.
