Girl, 7, seriously injured in Lake Rosseau boat accident

A seven-year-old girl was seriously hurt in a boat accident on Lake Rosseau today, police say.

The Ontario Provincial Police saidthey and other emergency responders were notified about an accident on Skeleton Bay, which is on Lake Rosseau and near Highway 141, at 2 p.m. ET.

Police say the girl fell from the boat and was subsequently struck.

The child was pulled from the water, thentaken to an air ambulance andairlifted to Toronto.

An Ornge air ambulance spokesperson told CBC News that the child arrived at the Hospital for Sick Children at 4:15 p.m.

Police say she suffered a serious leg injury. The Ornge spokesperson indicated that the injury had been caused by the boats propeller.

The incident remains under investigation.
