Man charged with 2nd-degree murder in fatal Scarborough stabbing

Police have charged a 55-year-old Toronto man with second-degree murder after a fatal stabbing in Scarborough this week. The victim was identified as 43-year-old Jason Hines.

Police have charged a 55-year-old Toronto man with second-degree murder after a fatal stabbing in Scarborough this week.

Officers responded to a highrise on Lawrence Avenue E., near Kingston Road, at 6:10 a.m. Thursday.

They found a man with stab wounds inside an apartment. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The victim was identified as 43-year-old Jason Hines, also from Toronto.

Police initially said a man and two women had been arrested in the aftermath of the stabbing.

The accused was scheduled to appear in court at the Toronto Regional Bail Centre on Thursday.

Anyone with information relevant to the case is asked to contact police or to leave an anonymous tip with Crime Stoppers.
