CBC's Matt Galloway receives Excellence in Media Award

CBC congratulates Metro Morning host Matt Galloway for being one of the recipients of the African Canadian Achievement Awards (ACAA).

ACAA celebrates the achievements, and pays tribute to the exemplary contributions of African Canadians to their community, and the wider Canadian society.

These celebrations have had the cumulative effect, over the 28-year history of the ACAA, of fostering a sense of pride and a spirit of dignity within the African Canadian community. The ACAA has also acted as a catalyst, inspiring many of our youth, and some adults, to pursue and attain success and excellence in their lives.

Matt received the awardon Saturday,February 21, 2015at the St. Lawrence Centre for the Arts inToronto.

Matt Galloway is the host of Metro Morning on CBC Radio One, 99.1 FM, the top rated morning radio program in Toronto.

He has been working at CBC Radio for more than 10 years. He has also anchored CBC Radio's coverage of the 2008 Summer Olympics live from Beijing, the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, the 2014 Winter Olympics live from Sochi, and the 2010 FIFA World Cup.

In 2014, Toronto Life magazine named him one of Toronto's 50 most influential people.

Matt is a keen cyclist, burgeoning runner, voracious reader, proud Torontonian and messy cook. He currently lives in the west end of Toronto with his wife and their two daughters.
