James Portuondo, 27, identified as 2nd Dubai Ferrari crash victim

The second of three people killed Saturday when the Ferrari they were riding incrashed in Dubai has been identified by his family as 27-year-oldJamesPortuondo of Toronto.

Portuondo, along with boxer Cody Nixon, died when the Ferrari slammed into a lamppost at aboutmidnight local time. A third person, who has not been identified, also died in the crash, which split the Ferrari in half.

Crystal Lopresti, Portuondo's sister, said Portuondo andNixon are cousins. In an email to CBC News Monday, she described Portuondoas a"beloved son, grandson, brother, brother-in-law, and uncle."

Lopresti said her brotherand Nixon were on holiday.

She said the car rental company called the family with the news of the accident.

"Saturday night, the car rental company called and said 'Your son died, come get his passport.'"

Portuondo was the youngest of three and worked at the family's auto body shop in Mississauga, Lopresti said.

"He would give you anything, and he would do anything for me. He didn't care what people thought. He was a crazy, silly goof."

Nixon chronicledhis globe-trotting adventureson his Instagram account,TravelWithCody, where pictures show himjumping out of planes,scuba-divingand lounging on beaches in exotic locations.

His final post shows himposing with a newly rented Ferrari in Dubai.

Nixon was a former member of Motor City Boxing in Oshawa, Ont., andrepresentedOntario at the Canadian Boxing Championships in 2012, boxing coach Don Nelson told CBC News.

The federal government said it is working withCanadian consular officials in the United Arab Emirates to provide assistance to the families.
