Drake postpones Summer Sixteen shows over ankle injury

Drake is postponing showsin his ongoing Summer Sixteen tourincluding one in Toronto following a recent ankle injury and fans are now mixing vodka and emotions(OK, they're disappointed).

Sunday night's show in Toronto has been postponed, Live Nation confirmed to CBC News, but the Saturday night show will go onas scheduled.

A new date for Sunday's show is yet to be announced. Ticketholders will receive an emailwith information on next steps andrefunds, Live Nation said.

"I am crushed to even be typing this announcement because I feel like I am letting my fans in these cities down,"the rapper wrote on his label'sblog.

Drake said affected cities include his hometown of Toronto, as well asPhiladelphia.He willperform one of two scheduled shows in Newark.

"I hate to be told I can't do something," he wrote."Butunder doctor's orders to allow me to recuperate, I am being forced to postpone the intense three shows in a row, in citieswhich have only ever shown me unconditional support."

"We are over 50 shows in and I have done everything to power through my recent ankle injury and leave it all out thereon the stage every night." But frankly, a sprained ankle ain't nothing to play with.

"I only want to give you the best show you deserve. I promise I will make it up to you," Drakewrote.
