Toronto Coun.Doug Ford is blasting the city's integrity commissioner for recommending that he apologize for a confrontation that happened in the City Hall council chambers last July.

A report from Janet Leiper says Ford used intimidating language when he spoke to Adam Chaleff-Freudenthaler, an activist whois accusing Ford of breaking campaign finance rules and is demanding an audit.

Leiper saidthe intimidating languagewasa violation of council's code of conduct and called on Ford to apologize in writing.

"It's absolutely nonsense," Ford said on Wednesday. "This is about someone, in my opinion, who'sbeen hired by the unions to attack the mayor, attack myself and attack the administration."

Chaleff-Freudenthaler said Ford told him "what goes around comes around."

Ford tried to apologize at the time by writing toChaleff-Freudenthaler that, "I believe there was a misunderstanding and apologize if you took anything I said the wrong way."

Chaleff-Freudenthaler didn't accept the letter anas apology, and Leiper agreed.
