Police seek witnesses in deadly Aurora double shooting

Police are seeking witnesses after a shooting in Aurora on Monday left one man dead and a woman injured.

Police are seeking witnesses after a shooting in Aurora on Monday left one man dead and a woman injured.

York Regional Police said in an update Tuesday afternoon that they believe the shooting was targeted.

Police have identified the victim as asMohammad-Saeid, 38, of Aurora. The woman was not named, but police said she is 31 and also from Aurora.

The shooting happened at a home onStubbs Lane, northwest ofLeslie StreetandWellington Street East. York Regional Policewere called to the area at about 12:15 p.m. Monday.

Officers arrived to find a man and woman suffering gunshot wounds, police said in a news release on Monday.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene, whilethewoman was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries, police said

Saeid's death has now been ruled a homicide, said police.

Police are urging any witnesses who have not spoken to investigators to come forward.

Anyone with relevant dashboard camera footage or home surveillance video is also being asked to contact police.
