24-year-old charged after teenager struck, killed in Vaughan

A 16-year-old boy is dead after a collision between a vehicle and a minibike Tuesday night in Vaughan, York Regional Police say.

A 16-year-old boy is dead after a collision between a vehicle and a minibike Tuesday night in Vaughan, York Regional Police say.

Police say they were called to the four-way stop at Martin Grove Road and Jackman Crescent at aroundaround 10:45 p.m.

The boy had life-threatening injuries and died in hospital, police said in a news release on Wednesday.

A 24-year-old man has been charged with dangerous operation causing death, failing to stop after an accident causing death and possession of a controlled substance, the release said.

Police in York Region are appealing for witnesses to the collision, including anyone with dashcam or surveillance footage, to speak with investigators.
