KI First Nation youth invite celebrities to visit

Young people in Kitchenuhmaykoosib want other Canadians to experience life in their community, so they're inviting 25 people to live in the First Nation for one week in June.

Chief Donny Morris said its a way to eliminate stereotypes.

"It's just to make Canadians out there see and feel and look at how we live," he said.

"We're trying to eliminate that concept, like a lot of people think we're well off."

The young people have issued invitations to prominent Canadians and politicians, but they're hoping some 'ordinary' people make the trip too.

Kitchenuhmaykoosib Inniniwug is located about 600 km north of Thunder Bay. The week-long event is slated for June 17-21.
