Fishing for yellow perch on Lake Superior

Yellow perch are considered to be one of the tastiest species in northwestern Ontario, giving truth to the saying that good things come in small packages.

Yellow perch are considered to be one of the tastiest species in northwestern Ontario, giving truth to the saying that good things come in small packages.

Ice fishing for perch on Lake Superior's Black Bay is attracting a lot of attention from anglers in the last five or six years, said Gord Ellis, CBC Superior Morning Outdoor columnist.

One of the reasons is yellow perch are a tasty panfish, but there is also a higher bag limit for this species.

Black Bay has a yellow perch limit of 25 perperson.
