The search team needs money, water, and volunteers

As the search for a missing Kenora, Ont., teenager enters its third week, search organizers have provided CBC witha wish list for those wondering what they can do to help.

Sixteen-year-old DelaineCopenacewas last seen in downtown Kenoraon Feb. 27.

Volunteers searching for herstepped up their efforts Monday after provincial police announced they weresuspending their ground search and underwater recovery operation.

The volunteer team has so far covered all of Kenora andKeewatinand is now focussing its efforts farther out of town, said search team leader Amanda Freeman.

Some teams have travelled toDryden and Fort Frances, she said.

Freemantold CBC anyone wanting to help the effort can contribute in the following ways:

1. Donate water

"We do send some teams out fairly far, like outside of Kenora, and we do pack them a lunch. We do give them water, the snacks that they need to give them that energy while they're out there," Freeman said.

Donations can be delivered to Knox United Church in Kenora.

2. Donate money

Organizers will use financial contributions to buy food andwater, as well asgas for vehicles being used in the search, Freeman said.

"We did have a gas fund, but that's been depleted," she said.

3. Print the poster and put it up

Anybody who wants to help the search can find a poster featuring a photo of Copenace on the search team's Facebook page.

The page is called "Help Us Find DelaineCopenace."

4. Volunteer for the search team

As the search grows longer, the team needs more volunteers to replace those who have already contributed.

"We don't have as many people as we did in the beginning," Freeman said, adding the crew not only needs searchers, it also needs people to staffthe tables where volunteers sign in and receive supplies.

5. Search your property

"Check places where we can't go," Freeman said. "We can't go onto private property.

"It's just checking. Everywhere. That's all we ask."

6. Attend the fundraising social on Thursday night

It takes place at 6:30 p.m., March 17, at the Ne-CheeFriendship Centre in Kenora.

Donations can be made at the door.
