WestJet to launch new Sudbury to Calgary route in June 2025

WestJet will offer a direct flight from Sudbury, Ont., to Calgary starting in June 2025, the Greater Sudbury Airport has confirmed.

Flights between the two cities will run twice a week

WestJetis returning to northeastern Ontario next summer.

The airline will offer a direct flight from Sudbury, Ont., to Calgary starting in June 2025, the Greater Sudbury Airport has confirmed.

In a news release, the airport said the seasonal route is set to begin in the summer and will continue through October 2025.

"WestJet's new direct service to Calgary is a milestone for our community," said Giovanna Verrilli, CEO of Greater Sudbury Airport, in a news release.

"This historic route strengthens ties between Northeastern Ontario and Alberta and Western Canada, providing residents and businesses with greater connectivity and new opportunities to explore and grow."

The route will run twice a week.

WestJet previously offered flights between Sudbury and Toronto for several years, but those ended in 2018.
